Cardboard Beds Inspire Paralympians

Emotional toll of Games, pushing past stereotypes

The Tokyo Paralympics are well underway. It is an inspiring event for so many reasons including the awe-inspiring achievements of the athletes. However, several reports have highlighted the athletes' concerns over the quality of the amenities provided in the Olympic Village.

One concern is the cardboard beds in the Olympic Village. The beds are made of recyclable cardboard and are designed to be sturdy enough to support the weight of an adult. However, some athletes have complained that the beds are too hard and uncomfortable, leading to sleepless nights.

Despite these challenges, the Paralympians are persevering and competing with great determination. Many of the athletes have overcome incredible adversity to get to the Games, and they are not letting the challenges of the Olympic Village get in their way.

Emotional toll of Paralympics
