Canucks Clinch Regular Season with Thrilling Victory over Wranglers

Abbotsford Canucks Extend Winning Streak to Nine

Final Score: Abbotsford Canucks 3 - Calgary Wranglers 2

ABBOTSFORD, B.C. - The Abbotsford Canucks (39-21-5-1) capped off their regular season in style on Friday night, securing a hard-fought 3-2 victory over the Calgary Wranglers at the Abbotsford Centre.

The Canucks, who had already clinched a playoff berth, entered the game with a chance to extend their winning streak to nine games. They did just that, thanks to goals from Jack Rathbone, Vasily Podkolzin, and Linus Karlsson.

Rathbone opened the scoring just 2:36 into the game, but the Wranglers answered back with a goal from Matthew Phillips later in the period. Podkolzin gave the Canucks the lead again early in the second period, but the Wranglers once again tied the game thanks to a goal from Connor Zary.

The Canucks finally broke the deadlock late in the third period when Karlsson scored his 23rd goal of the season. The Wranglers pulled their goalie for an extra attacker in the final minutes, but the Canucks held on for the victory.

The Canucks finished the regular season with a record of 39-21-5-1, good for second place in the Pacific Division. They will now face the San Diego Gulls in the first round of the playoffs.
